Pedetemptim [Latin]: foot by foot.
Mind over body, or body ere mind?
Must the horse be in front and the cart just behind?
Or to ditch the beast and trod on by foot,
Embracing the chance to end up kaputt?
The crux of the matter rests not in the end,
Formed not by the road, nor curve, nor bend.
The entirety of focus,
Shines just on one locus,
Found not in the spoils, not in the prep,
But in the tremor of one moment’s step.
Thus don’t fret the future nor dwell in the past,
No path has been set, the die not yet cast.
All that exists and all that shall be
Begins with each step, each crook of knee.
